OUR FOCUS
Since the acquisition of Natur Aventure in March 2026, Devil's River Fly Shop has become quite successful.
more than just a fly-fishing specialty shop. By combining the heritage of
Long-standing Natur Aventure combined with the modern vision and passion of Devil's River Fly Shop, we have created a destination entirely dedicated to the complete fly fishing experience.
Founded in 1995, our fly fishing school continues to evolve thanks to our
"From Discovery to Mastery" program, designed for anglers of all levels.
Led by FFI (Fly Fishers International) certified instructors, our programs offer professional training in casting, river reading, fly selection and advanced fishing techniques, all in a welcoming and dynamic environment.
Our experienced guides—many of whom actively participate in national fly-fishing competitions—bring exceptional expertise and passion to every outing. Whether on the legendary Devil's River or the region's magnificent lakes, our mission is to create memorable fishing experiences while sharing our love of the sport, the outdoors, and the waters we are privileged to explore.
OUR GUIDES
At NaturAventure, we believe that fly fishing is much more than a technique—it's a way to connect with nature, push your limits, and experience unforgettable moments on the water. Our team is made up of guides, certified instructors, and passionate competitors, united by a shared love of the outdoors and a deep commitment to the conservation of our aquatic resources. Our mission: to share this passion with you, whether you're a beginner or an experienced angler.

Trainer
Ivo Balinov

Ivo has over 44 years of fishing experience, gained throughout Europe, North America, the Caribbean, and New Zealand. A seasoned instructor, he has guided many anglers in their first steps in fly fishing. His expertise also extends to coaching advanced anglers, including several Canadian national champions and members of Canada's national youth team.
Over the years, Ivo has enriched his knowledge by learning from some of the best competitive anglers in the world, including in Spain, France, the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom.
Always eager to explore new techniques, Ivo became interested in European nymphing as early as 2004, at a time when these methods were still relatively unknown in North America. He subsequently played a significant role in passing on these highly effective techniques, both through structured training and during spontaneous exchanges on the water's edge.
Driven by a constant passion for improvement and knowledge sharing, Ivo organized some of the first masterclasses of their kind in Canada, featuring top-level competitive anglers from continental Europe. These courses covered a wide range of advanced techniques, including dry fly fishing, lake fishing, nymphing, and much more.
Today, Ivo is the visionary and organizer behind the Smart Angling World-Class Fly Fishing School. This initiative offers a series of river and online training courses, showcasing the most advanced Canadian and international expertise in fly fishing.
Ivo is also an accomplished competitive angler, having achieved excellent results in major national and international tournaments. He is a former Commonwealth team champion and has reached the podium nine times at the Canadian National Championships, including five consecutive team gold medals. He has also been a provincial champion in Ontario and Quebec.
He has represented Canada at five World Fly Fishing Championships and was part of the team that achieved Canada's best performance to date, in 2023, in Spain.
